Occasional Poetry

Occasional Poetry

Here, now in this teeming place,

all around me

human faces, composed not calm

clutching bags,

children all wanting to wander

wild,

my heart is beating fast, the past

like a curtain tangles

my arms, the poetry that pools

from this spring

cools, loses its heat

into a tepid stream, my dreams

become

occasional poetry.
